Consumer Research, Color + Trend Analysis
I originally joined the KIN team to build a strategy surrounding colors, materials and finishes. We dove deep into the lives and personalities of KIN's target consumer to find out what truly moves them, what's important to them, what resonates with them. We studied how this generation communicates, identified relevant trends and cultural reference points. Based on these insights, we created comprehensive color and graphic stories which we applied to the product as well as the larger KIN brand story.

JORDAN BRAND LOOKBOOKS
Art Direction: David Frank + Sean Butterly
Design: Megan Chouinard
The Jordan Brand Lookbooks included imagery of all the current apparel and footwear, both lifestyle and soldier shots, as well as a dvd of the images. The covers were designed to be tactile representations of a basketball.
JORDAN BRAND TEE SHIRT GRAPHICS
Design: Megan Chouinard
Two tee graphics that I submitted for a Jordan Brand in-house contest. The Jordan Dunk Diagram tee took home the blue ribbon and the 2010 tee graphic became the primary lookbook graphic for that season.

Both Slate and Noteboard are plexiglass dry erase boards with interchangeable templates. Slate is handheld, for on-the-go use and Noteboard has a magnetic back for home or office use. The Seatside Organizer is exactly that—it keeps the essentials accessible while maintaining a clutter-free desk.

PINK was one of the early code names for the KIN mobile device and these are some of the early color stories. The stories are based on in-depth consumer research and the trends that drive, and are driven by, our target consumer. Alex was our muse. There are many Alex's, each with a distinct point of view and story to tell through their personal style. We extracted the key elements, added some unexpected twists and came up with these unique and relevant color stories.

During my years in Nike Timing, I developed graphics for many products as well as designed and applied a color strategy across the entire line; mens, womens and kids. Shown here are some examples of that work.

For a wedding in the forest, we decided to use casual, hand drawn graphic elements, while maintaining the formality of an invitation suite. The illustration inspiration was drawn from Lake Tahoe's natural surroundings, including the Mountain Chickadee, widely known as the "Cheeseburger Bird." Oh, and that's our Portland-based cat Lu under the umbrella.

Travel Trailer creates modern travel souvenirs, unique to each location starting with Portland, Oregon. Recalling cherished memories of parents returning from vacation, wondering what they had in that suitcase—what wonderful trinket they had picked up during their travels. Was it a beaded coin purse? A pencil case? A tee shirt? Those amazing little moments when all seemed right with the world and no matter how small the gift, the significance was never lost. Travel Trailer strives to bring that feeling back to travel. To give people a momento that they will treasure for years.

The KIN product was so unique that it deserved a strong presence in retail. The team created custom fixtures and compelling graphics to grab the attention of KIN's target consumer and create a meaningful connection with the brand. The in-store fixtures also helped explain the story and innovation behind this completely new product.
A variety of patterns and graphics, some of which were created for Nike Vision and Timing.
